The story behind the bracelets
Hi Everyone!
My name is Alexa and I am 20 years old. About a year ago I bought an OmniPeace shirt from a store in the mall, when I got home I read the tag that describes what this organization is all about. OmniPeace products unite people throughout the world in an effort to promote peace, education, human rights and end extreme poverty in Africa by 2025. OmniPeace donates 25% of its profits to humanitarian efforts committed to these goals.
After learning about OmniPeace I was very interested in helping them. I came up with an idea to make bracelets for OmniPeace. I contacted every email I found on their website and 4 months later I received a response. They really liked my idea and after a full year of hard work to make this come true, the bracelets are now finally being sold.

My name is Melissa and I am 17 years old, I discovered your blog because the name Alexa Carlin was in Glamour magazine and when I searched Google, this is what came up. I admire everything that you do and aspire to someday do something similar. I love fashion and blog about it as well, I’ve always wanted to use fashion to help others just like yourself but i just didnt think I could do anything. I just want to say that your idea for the Omnipeace bracelets is brilliant, and organizations like Hello Perfect are just what girls my age need because we have so much pressure put on us to be perfect these days. You have inspired me to move forward with my aspirations in fashion and use it to help change the world. Any ideas on how i should go about it? I would appreciate any of your suggestions. I am so happy I have inspired you to move forward with pursuing your dreams of making a difference in the world through fashion. I want you to know that YOU can do anything you set your mind to as long as you always think positively and NEVER EVER give up! I started when I was exactly your age with the same exact mission, to make a difference through fashion. From that I developed Hello Perfect because I realized that so many (too many) people do not realize their full potential and don’t have enough confidence to chase after their dreams. They settle for less because they don’t believe in themselves. This is what Hello perfect is trying to accomplish… we are trying to instill in others lives the confidence needed to accomplish ones dreams. How we are doing that is advocating that the challenge in life is not to become perfect, it’s accepting that you already are. Once you have re-defined society’s definition of perfect then you will see how your life can truly change.
Once I realized that I am perfect just the way I am, I gained this confidence that has allowed me to view life in a whole new way. There are NO limitations in life, the only limitations are the ones you set for yourself. So no matter what you want in life, you can attain it because the only one that will stop you, is you.
Continue blogging about what you love and search for opportunities to get your foot in the door to begin your journey of changing the world. Do you have any ideas of what you want to do, become part of or accomplish in the long run? That could help you brainstorm some ideas of what you can do now to get there.
